Fingerprinting
Department
of Justice fingerprint clearance must be completed prior to the first
day of employment for all positions at a cost of approximately $20-$35 to the employee. Volunteers/chaperones must also have fingerprints and TB clearance prior to volunteering or chaperoning.
Substitute
teachers should contact the Humboldt County Office of Education
Personnel Department at 707.445.7039 for fingerprinting in order to be
cleared for more than one school district.
TB Clearance
California Education Code Section 4940:
No
person shall be initially employed by a school district in a
certificated or classified position unless the person has submitted to
a TB Test to determine that he/she is free of
active tuberculosis by a physician or Nurse licensed under Chapter 5
(commencing at Section 2000) of Division Two of the Business and
Professions Code. This test, which, if positive, shall be
followed by an X-ray of the lungs.
Thereafter,
all employees shall be required complete an Adult Tuberculosis (TB) Risk Assessment Questionnaire at
least once every four years, or more often if directed by the governing
board upon recommendation of the local health officer.
