Created to establish partnerships between schools and local community
resources to provide literacy, academic enrichment and safe
constructive alternatives for K-9
The current funding level for the ASES program is $550 million
Challenges

- TVES shares with Playschool
- Limits available space in the classroom, 1/3
- Restricts areas and actual use of the room
- Eliminates working during playschool hours
- HES shares with special class
- Lessens privacy and security of student belongings
- Restricts certain projects
- Limits working during school day hours
- Adds to the set-up/clean-up time
- Staffing
- Both sites still have 1 position open
- Work hours pose problems for currently working employees and unemployed applicants
