On March 30, 2018, the District and CSEA’s negotiating teams met for negotiations. The District’s negotiations team included Carmie Hostler, Laura Lee George, Paula Wyant, Emilee Marshall, and Dean Adams. CSEA’s negotiations team included Terry Bray, Mark Ahrens, Nena Hames, Harold Jones, Denise George, and Kathy Hofacker.
During negotiations, the District presented counterproposals to CSEA regarding Article 3 (Job Descriptions), Article 12 (Spousal and Veterans Leave), and Article 20 (Duration). The District explained that it was ready, willing, and able to submit counterproposals to CSEA’s March 30, 2018 proposals regarding Article 7 (Wages), Article 9 (Health and Welfare Benefits), Article 11 (Vacation), and a golden handshake, but again explained that it was unwilling to negotiate those terms related to the 2017-18 school year while its former Budgeting and Purchasing Clerk, a confidential position, served on CSEA’s negotiation team. During negotiations, CSEA presented proposals to the District on wages, benefits, and golden handshake; Article 12 (leaves); Article 20 (Duration); Article 11 (Vacation); and Article 3 (Job Descriptions). Immediately following negotiations, and at the invitation of the District, CSEA submitted a counterproposal to the District regarding AB 119 via email.
